This Hari Raya..

Gone are the days when we used to celebrate Ramadhan with double the dose of our 'ibadah'... The current trend of Ramadhan celebration is berbuka puasa at 5 star hotels, with the longest buffet EVER, which went into this book and that book, shop at places that offers discounts from 20% to 100%,seriously... if you are a working adult, working from 8.45 to 5.45, in Ramadhan, the time is shorten by half an hour, so you go back at 5.15 and 4.15 on Fridays. Where the hell will you find time to perform your 'ibadah' if you are always on the run to scavenge for the best buffets in the state, or busy rampaging in departmental stores looking for the best drapes, cutlery sets, the bests of every single thing to fit in your household in preparation for the Hari Raya. Saturdays and Sundays are the best time to shop, but after a full day of walking and running, working those arms in flipping clothes in the 70% off baskets, where will you find the energy to 'mengaji' or do your 'terawih'? Where has the real meaning of Ramadhan gone to? Where had all the sincerity in welcoming the month of Ramadhan dissappeared to? The month is after all is the best month for all 'umat Islam' to 'beribadah' since Allah has said it Himself that Ramadhan is the month where He would forgive your sins if asked to and grant your prayers if you prayed to Him. Did we forget that Allah is not a big fan of 'pembaziran'? Eat but stop before you are full. Why immerse yourself in floods of food when the Creator has personally said that He hates the practice.

And gone are the days when Aidilfitri are celebrated with sheer humility. Have the Raya shower, then put on decent clothes, mind our 'aurats', next is to the masjid to perform the Raya prayers, ask forgiveness from our parents, family and friends with full sincerity. We are growing in a world where the outlook mattered most. where very few people realises what Aidilfitri is all about. i have friends who spends a whole lot of money during Hari Raya. They make sure their house is the brightest, preetiest, and the fanciest so that PEOPLE would not talk shit about them upon exiting their house. They did what they did, with full enthusiasm so the neighbour next door would stare in awe and surrender to their defeat. 3 dozens of kuih raya would don their table and anything lesser than that would be an offence. They MUST wear the 'baju raya' made from the best of the best of material there is on Earth and would import from the Moon if Earth proved to fail their search. They gotta have that 2K 'cekak musang' buttons from Habib Jewels, they gotta have the shiniest brooch on their tudung, and it must be in the current style..'stylo' they said... which altogether reaps the real meaning of wearing 'tudung' since you can see their necks and their earloops ( to showoff that diamond earrings ) and with that jambul sprouting from on top of their forehead, well, you can imagine it anyway... And what about the kids...they scream on seeing a green note in their Raya paket, much less a blue note.. They set their parents and their makciks and pakciks on this obligations to fill their Raya requirements.
And this, i have to admit... is taught by the parents themselves. What would you have told your son if he said that his makcik has given him 5RM for his duit raya? Would you say that his makcik is just stingy or that please be contend with whatever that you've got? So where exactly has the real meaning of Muslims...celebrating the true Aidilfitri, after a month of fasting in Ramadhan, well nourished with 'ibadah'....

Let's ask ourselves now, would you like to raise your children to be the kind of successor who will be leading the world once you're gone, the kind that would step on one another just so that people won't look down on them? Welcome to the material world but let's not let our kids be influenced by the damned way of life...

Doa Penerang Hati

I would like to share with ya'll today a doa which i practiced everytime after my daily prayers, which i tot mite be of use to ya'll.. Anyway, this doa was tot by our dear Ustaz Wan, in case any of u has missed it. The doa is "Ya Allah, limpahkan lah daku dgn ilmu pengetahuan, dan indahkanlah dadaku dgn sifat lapang dada, dan muliakan lah daku dgn ketaqwaan dan cantikkan daku dgn kesihatan' A very good and effective doa this is if you said it in full faith. So, let's all not forget the one source of power that has the biggest effect on us all. Regards.

Feel The Rush...

Okay, so i talk bags of shit on surfing.. have i ever surf? the answer would be 'NO', if i'm scared of 'babat' pulling a long face at me... i'm sorry 'babat', but the honest answer would be 'Yes'. The first time i surf..I don't quite remember when...( i do actually, but time, date and venue sealed for my own protection..hehe..), but i clearly remember the butterfly fluttering, or should i say... rummaging in my stomach as i tip-toed towards the beach, sunscreen splashed on all over my body earlier on (i'm a bit terrified of the sun FYI). Clad in my fading Triumph swimsut with my worn-out blue T, i remember everyone was looking and smiling at me, particularly because i'm the only girl around holding a surfboard, now you watch that step, gurl.. uh-uh, i could not stop smiling.. standing in the sanking sand just a feet away from the cool water, i tighten my horse-tail, checking out other surfers, all of which are so 'well-done', sunburnt to the bones, bitter chocolate made perfect. Some looked at me with a smile, some just stare with the 'what-de-heck' look on their faces.
As i waded through the shallow water, i can't feel my feet, knees wobbly, can't shake off this smirk in my face. i'm seconds away from doing this thing that i normally just do in my sleep. So after reaching deep water, waist-level, i tied ( actually i got someone tied it for me..hehe) the leash to my ankle. i place the board in front me, then hop onto the board to position myself to start paddling. Big wave, here i come! Whoop!! I slipped. Again! I slip. Again! and I slip, and got knocked on the head by my own board. What just happened?! I can't even get myself on the board! Much less to paddle.. much less to surf! And so, there i was, in the water, with the surfboard tied to my leg, confused, bummed out, feeding on the unexpectedness of the situation that i currently have my ass in, im in blurville.. i keep on trying and trying, till my arms are numb. 5 hours in the water, and finally, i managed to get my ass on the surfboard. 5 hours of lesson, and i can now sit and lie on the board. yeah...sitting is believing.. hehe... (Geezzz...those photos sure does make surfing looks damn easy..)

And one thing i gotta highlight to all the girls out there, sure, with all the make-up gone, hair all over the place, you will still look cool in the water with a surfboard, trust me.. :) Sure i got smacked, whacked, slapped, tilted and drowned in the raging water. That's what you'll get first time trying to conquer the wave. Minus the sea water of course, coz i got tips, yeah..tips from those surfers.. ( they turned out to be very friendly by the way..) hold your breath when got gulped by a wave.. Well, though i didn't really get to ride any wave that day, i do get the chance to 'get-in-the-lineup' ( that's what surfers called when they waited for the wave). And those guys, they were with me every second.. No they didn't laugh, they are surfers, every surfer will have to go through this..
Anyway, at the end of the day, i know i just had the most wonderful, extraordinarily amazing experience, anyone would ever had... so to home i marched, could barely walk, could barely feel my arms, ( you will feel your barely-there muscle streched to the limit, result from balancing your ass on the board just now) and i couldn't care less about the hot scorching sun over my head anymore. 5 hours in the water and I'm already black as far as i'm concerned, all beaten-up. But it was well worth it.. every drop of the ocean.. and definitely looking forward for the next rush...

Chillin'...

I would like to share with my mates out there bout a bit of the world around me. This is where i usually hang out. Where i usually get my stuff done wirelessly..hehe... With great staff around, you definitely will have no worries about anything whatsoever. No annoying noise, great smell all around, cool ambience and fabulously thick hot chocolates. Meet the one cool dude who manned this place, Mr Big Eyes.. hihi.. he has enormously big eyes. Anyway, though i would love to have few pictures posted, i could not. Anyway, this is where the fun is and this is where i feel belonged. Cheers...

Calvin and Hobbes

I love Calvin and Hobbes. I think they make great cartoons. it's a pity that they never animated the comic. i remember one time, during a visit to the zoo, when Calvin lost his way and his stuffed toy, Hobbes. He looked for Hobbes at the tiger's enclosure, climb up the wall, with his feet dangling and he went like this to the tigers... 'His name is Hobbes, and he's...Hey, I'm talking to you!! ' haha... how cute is that... and to some of you who don't have a clue why he is looking for his stuffed toys in all the wrong places, that's because Hobbes is his imaginary friend. They do stuffs together. They play snow ball, go on a space-battle (in a cardboard box), even went for a swim together.

They are always having this witty conversation together, where Hobbes is always the cool one and Calvin, well..a klutz... and what did Calvin said when he burped out loudly to his mom's ashtonishment.. ' Must be a barge coming through! ' 'Good heavens Calvin! What do we say after that? ' ' That sure tasted better going down than coming up! ' Darn Cute!!! .. Makes me feel just like home... hihi.. : ) Here..check out this cute comic strip i found on the web..
